Apollo 8 was the second manned mission in the United States Apolloe space program and was launched on December 21, 1968. It also becamse the first manned spacecraft to leave Earth orbit, reach the Earth's moon, orbit it and return safely back to Earth.

James Earl Ray was convicted of the killing of Martin Luther King Jr., a civil rights leader and an anti-war activist. He was convicted on March 10, 1969 when he had confessed the murder of MLK. Instead of the death penalty, he was snetenced to 99 years in prison. He later died in prison on April 23, 1998.

Susie and Jim got married on September 27, 1969.

The break up of the Beatles began as a rumor throughout 1969-1970. Jhon Lennon privately told the other band mates that he was leaving the group in September 1969. Nobody knew about it until Paul McCartney announced on April 10, 1970 that he was quitting the Beatles.

On June 17, 1972, there was a break-in at the Democratic National Committee headquarters at the Watergate office complex in Washington, D.C. Then the Nixon administration's tried to cover-up its involvement. Because of this, Richard Nixon, the president at the time, had be resigned on August 9, 1972.

Susie and Jim bought land up north about 2 hours away from Milwaukee. After awhile they began to go up there frequently. Then they strted to go up every weekend. They bought the land on May 1, 1988.

The presidential election of 1988 was held on November 8. The people running against eachother were George H. W. Bush and Michael Dukakis. George later won the campaign.

During the Boston marathon on April 15, 2013, two pressure cooker bombs exploded at 2:49 PM. It killed 3 people and injured about 264 other participants.

Susie and Jim loved going up north, so they retired and made it official that they were moving up north on July 18, 2013.
