  • The Hossbach Conference

    Hitler met with his closest military advisers in secret. He discussed his plans for acquiring more land for the people of Germany.
  • Anschluss

    Hitler's troops enter Austria. They successfully annex it to Nazi Germany.
  • Munich Agreement

    France and Britain's prime ministers, Edouard Dadalier and Neville Chamberlain, sign the Munich Agreement. The agreement gave the Sudetenland, the German speaking region of Czechoslovakia, over to Germany without any acts of war.
  • Czechoslovakia

    Hitler's troops enter the remainder of Czechoslovakia.
  • German-Soviet Nonaggression Pact

    Germany and the Soviet Union make a vow to never attack each other.
  • Invasion of Poland

    Hitler's troops attack Poland and successfully occupy the country.
  • The Beginning of the War

    Britain and France declare war on Germany after Germany took over Poland.
  • The "Phony" War

    Hitler's troops enter Norway and Denmark, both countries unaware. Hitler claimed it was done to "protect freedom and independence." His troops then invade the Netherlands, Belgium, and Luxembourg.
  • The Battle of Britain

    Germany launches an attack on Britain.
