    Many higher economic status households moved out of the central part of the city to the suburbs. Majority of these people were caucasian, leaving behind racialized populations.
  • The Decline of the Core

    City cores had decreased investment and as a result increased many social and economic issues while suburbs continuously grew.
  • Returning to the Core

    Many city centres have seen many people returning to the core. As a result, there are many externalities that residents are experiencing, some losing their housing over increased cost of living that gentrifiers bring with them.
