Genghis Khan was born in Mongolia in 1155. He was born under the name "Temujin". Temujin was born as a member of the Borjigin tribe and a descendant of Khabul Khan. -

Marriage
At the age of 16, Genghis got married to Borte. Soon after, Borte was kidnapped by rival Merkit tribe, but to be later rescued back by Genghis. His first son was then born. -

He gains Central and Eastern Mongolia in war. Years after that, battles continue giving him ccontrol over Xi Xia. -

Khan's army defeats Jin Dyansty
Khan and his army travel to Northern China and defeat the Jin's. This gives them control over Zhongdu. -

War With Khwarezm
Genghis Khan plans an attack and then goes to war with the Khwarezm Empire. Khwarezm is present-day Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Afghanistan and Iran. -

End of Khwarezm Empire
He conquers many lands and forces Khwarezm to surrender giving him control over the empire -
Apr 30, 1227
Death
Genghis Khan died in 1227, soon after the submission of the Xi Xia. The exact cause of his death is unknown, but some historians believe that he fell off his horse during a hunt. It is believed that he was buried near his birth place on the Onon River.
