    On 25 April 1915 Australian soldiers landed at now called ANZAC Cove on the Gallipoli Peninsula. Most of 16,000 Australians and New Zealanders who landed had their first experience of combat on the first day. By the first night 2000 of them had been killed or wounded.

    Lone Pine was a planned diversion from the main attack. It was an attempt to break out of the ANZAC perimeter and capture the heights of Chunuk Bair and hill.

    November 27 1915, The morning of the 27th was sunny ,Darker and darker grew the sky and colder and colder the breath of the wind. Men’s clothes were frozen stiff. The sound of men crying could be heard everywhere.
  • Remaining ANZAC troops were evacuated

    Remaining ANZAC troops were evacuated
    The remaining troops in Anzac and Suvla left at night in the 'final' evacuation on 18 and 19 December. The deception worked so well that all troops in Suvla, Anzac and Helles were evacuated over two months with little to none issues, bringing an end to the Anzac's long campaign in Gallipoli.
