October 1914. The Ottoman Empire joins WW1 with their alliances Germany, and Hungary-Austria to fight against the Allied forces. -
The Australian Imperial Force was training at camps in Egypt and preparing for the fights they would end up fighting. The English camps weren't ready or prepared for the Anzacs and other troops to train. -
Roughly 3200 Australian troops ported Lemnos. This landing position was 60 kilometres away from the Gallipoli Peninsula. These men were the first ANZAC's to step on Greek soil and many more followed after. -
The Gallipoli landing happened on the 25th of April, 1915. It was a fight that included the ANZACS and the Turkish. The British later joined the fight but were not victorious against the enemy. -
The first Anzac hospital ship arrived at Alexandria to evacuate wounded troops nearby in the area. 548 casualties went on to the ship and 14 died over the 1.5-day journey to Gallipoli. -
A German submarine sinks the HMS Triumph in the Gabe Tepe which was transferred over to fight against the Ottoman Empire. Of course, this mission was unsuccessful and the ship was brought to a halt and eventually sank. -
The Battle for Lone pine began when a diversion was created to take of course the Turkish reserves of the main Allied attack. The Allies planned to take over Chunuk Bair and Hill 971 on the peninsula. -
This decision was advised by Lord Kitchener that the Allied troops would evacuate from Gallipoli and surrender from the fighting. Over a month time, the ANZACs were evacuated and rescued from the battle. -
On the 15th of December, 1915. The ANZACs evacuated overnight, feeling from the intense fighting against the Turkish enemies. Over 5 nights, 36,000 troops went onto the transport ships and escaped the fighting. -
The Ottoman Empire declares victory over the ANZACS and British on the 9th of January, 1916. They brutally killed thousands of men and lost many of their men as well.
