Galileo Galilei was born is Pisa, Italy. His parents were Vincenzo Galilei(Father) and Giulia Di Cosimo Ammannati.

Galileo’s family decided to move to Florence from where he originally came from in Pisa.

Galileo was an Italian astronomer, mathematician, physicist, philosopher and professor. In 1592 he became the chair of the mathematics department in the University of Pisa.

Galileo discovers the new invention, the telescope. Galileo proceeds to further improve the invention and allow it to have greater potential. He does this by improving the overall magnification of the telescope.

Galileo visits Rome to demonstrate and present his new telescope.

In 1613 Galileo felt warmly accepted in Rome and wrote three letters to take his position apart of the Heliocentric theory.

The three letters he wrote in 1613 were read and went against what the Aristotelian Scholars and Philosophers believed at the time. The Church was convinced by Aristotelian Scholars and convicted Galileo of contradicting scripture.

Galileo retires from his work and goes to live in his home in Bellosguardo near Florence.

After the accusations and conflict, the Catholic Church declared Galileo’s writing banned. The Church also warns him not to hold onto his beliefs anymore.

Galileo returns to Rome to appeal his 1616 restraint and the Pope allows some exceptions. He is told he is allowed to write but only as a non-bias perspective. He must write letters from both theories and both perspectives.

After Galileo returned he composed a letter and the contents aggravated the Pope and he was put on trial for heresy.

After being accused of heresy Galileo is put under house arrest for eight years until his death.

Galileo becomes blind as a result of the combination of Cataracts and Glaucoma.

After having 3 children in his life, Galileo dies from long-term illness
