Galileo was most famously known for using a telescope and pointing towards the stars. He did not however invent the telescope but he built his own telescope which could magnify by 30 times. Everyone in the world thought that the geocentric theory was in play or that the earth was at the center of the universe. It made sense because the sun and the moon look like they are circling around. Galileo started observing Venus's phases and he knew something wasn't right. This put an end to absolute power and divine right in England. The absolute rulers kept taking power from the people and disobeying laws. King Charles I was the monarch during the english civil war and he made agreements with parliament and he did not obey the agreements. Oliver cromwell overthrew chales and he was beheaded.
