    French and Indian War
    The French and Indian war was between France and England when they fought over property in North America. This in turn, caused the colonist and Native Americans to get involved. The war ended in a lot of debt and taxes were raised and colonist were left upset.

    The sugar act raised taxes on sugar, molasses, silk, wine, coffee, pimento, and indigo. The colonist weren't happy because the act allowed seizing goods without representation.

    Stamp Act
    The Stamp Act was over printed materials. This angered many colonists and caused a debate over taxes.
  • Declaratory Act

    Declaratory Act
    The Declaratory Act stated that England was able to pass laws. This enraged the colonist because they thought it was unfair.
  • Townshend Act

    Townshend Act
    The Townshend Act was over lead, paper, glass, paint, and imported tea. Many colonists were infuriated and started a resistance.
  • Tea Act

    Tea Act
    The Tea Act was suppost to help the East India company by having the colonist buy their tea from them. The colonists were unhappy and thought that this was a way to undermine local merchants.
  • Start of the Revolution

    The Revolution occurred due to the tension between the colonists in North America and the government in England. While the colonists were happy for change, they also experienced fear of the unknown.
