In this event, Forrest is running from some bullies from school. While running away, he breaks his leg braces and starts to run. In this event, Forrest realizes how fast he can truly run.

When getting chased by bullies yet again, Forrest runs through a football field to get away from them. While running, some football scouts notice him and offer Forrest a scholarship. This is how Forrest gets to go to college.

Forrest starts to attend the University of Alabama. At this college, he becomes really popular in football. This is the start of his football life in college.

In this event, Forrest meets JFK. When JFK shakes Forrest's hand he asks him, "how does it feel to be an All-American." Forrest replies to the president by saying, "I gotta pee."

Forrest graduates from the University of Alabama in the year 1966. Once he graduates, a man approaches him with a flyer to join the military. Forrest then enlists into the U.S. military.

Forrest travels to Vietnam and makes friends with a man named Bubba. Once reaching Vietnam, Bubba and Forrest meet a man named Lt. Dan. This is where Forrest's army life begins.

In this event, Vietnamese soldiers infiltrate the base that Bubba and Forrest are at. While the base is getting attacked, Forrest runs back and forth in an attempt to save all of the soldiers. Bubba dies from a gun shot.

President Lyndon Johnson awards Forrest the Medal of Honor. Later that day, Forrest gives a speech at a rally. He is then reunited with Jenny.

While looking for shrimp, Lt. Dan and Forrest accidentally catch hundreds of shrimp. They have obtained a big win in the shrimping industry. They become a big name in the shipping industry.

Forrest meets Bubba's family to tell them the deal that he made with Bubba. He then goes to Bubba;s grave and tells him his great plan. He then ventures out to get a shrimping boat.

Forrest's mom dies of cancer on her bed in Alabama. After the death of his mom, Forrest retires from the shrimping industry. He lives the rest of his days at his childhood home in Alabama.
