A federal district court in Alabama ordered the university to admit 2 African American students during its summer session.With all the protests and mobs, Governor Wallace promised to prevent integration. He temporarily blocked the doors of the school but failed to keep his promise because of JFK and his orders. -

Kennedy was assassinated at the Dealey Plaza in Dallas, Texas. His limousine was passing by the Texas School Book Depository, when the gun was fired. He was shot in the head and was killed instantly. Many believe that his death was linked to the CIA in an operation to kill the president. -

First Anti- War Demonstration Occurs Washington D.C.
The first protests against the Vietnam war came in October 1965 when the draft for the war was increased. The protests against the war also started to pick up when body bags started to return to America in increasing numbers. Many Americans were also shocked by the My Lai Massacre in which several American troops attacked and murdered 700 unarmed villagers consisting of women and children. Protesters developed the saying “Hey! Hey! LBJ! How many kids did you kill today?” -
Robert Kennedy is Assassinated
Bobby was killed in Los Angeles, California, during the campaign season for the United States Presidential election of 1968. Kennedy was shot as he walked through the kitchen of the Ambassador Hotel and died in the Good Samaritan Hospital twenty-six hours later. A man named Sirhan Sirhan, a 24-year-old Palestinian/Jordanian immigrant, was found guilty of Kennedy's murder and was charged with life in prison. -

The U.S. was invited to China for a friendly TableTennis match on April 6, 1971. The US accepted the offer and Nixon decided to join the Chinese leader at the event. The Ping Pong Diplomacy was recognized as the first time the US and China opened ties between eachother. -
Governor Wallace is Shot 5 Times
Wallace was shot five times by Arthur Bremer while campaigning at the Laurel, Maryland. One bullet hit him in his spine, which left him paralyzed from the waist down for the rest of his life. A Wallace survived but on August 4, 1972, Bremer was sentenced to sixty-three years in prison, later reduced to fifty-three years. -

The Watergate scandal was a political scandal that occurred in the United States in the 1970s. At the time, a break-in occured at Watergate were recorded tapes of Nixon's were found. Nixon had put in voice recorders in several places in the white house. The scandal eventually led to the resignation of Richard Nixon on August 9, 1974 whic was the only resignation of a U.S. President. -

Hurricane Carmen was the most intense tropical cyclone of the 1974 Atlantic hurricane season. A destructive and widespread storm, Carmen threatend the major city of New Orleans Throughout its course, the hurricane killed 8 people and caused $162 million in damage. -
Apple Is Founded
Apple was established on April 1, 1976, by Steve Jobs, Steve Wozniak and Ronald Wayne to sell the Apple I personal computer kit. The kits were hand-built by Wozniak and first shown to the public at the Homebrew Computer Club. The product was frst developed in a garage.
