Vietnam War
Vietnam War was a war that occurred during the Cold War, starting on Nov 1, 1955 till April 30, 1975. The United States got involved in the civil war against North and South Vietnam to contain communism.The U.S didnt want communism to spread to other countries, so the U.S helped South Vietnam to fight North Vietnam. JFK's Assassination

The Black Panther was founded by 6 memebers. (Elbert Howard, Sherman Forte etc.) It was founded on October 16, 1966. Its origins were in Oakland, California. This group was orginally a black organization for self defense. -

The Hippie Movement started around the 1960's when a youth movement spread throughout the country. "Hippie" originated from the word hipster which meant anyone who is with nature or spreading the love. The use of drugs was very popular in the 1960's -

The ping-pong Diplomact was when the US was able to get into close relation with China. The American Ping Pong team recieved a surprise invitation by the Chinese for an all expense paid visit to the Peoples Republic. These people were the first Americans allowed in China since communism took over there. -
The Watergate Scandal
The Watergate Sandal was a major scandal that occurred in the U.S by President Nixon and his administration, On June 17, 1972 Nixon's administration broke into the Democratic National Committee (DNC) headquarters at the Watergate office complex in Washington, D.C. to steal tapes to sabotage the opposing party in the election. Nixon's administration attempted to cover-up the scandal but failed. As a result on August 9, 1974, President Nixon resigned as President and 48 people were found guilty. -
Hurricane Carmen
Hurricane Carmen was a tropical cyclose of destructive winds and storms. It was a category 4 hurricane. It started from Africa and headed towards the carribeans. It eventually was predicted to hit the US in the city of New Orleans but went westwards to Louisana. It killed several people and made a $162 million of damage.
