    The Ornithopter was designed by Leonardo da Vinci. It was never actually made, but modern helicopters are built based on this design.

    The first hot air baloon was made by two brothers, Joseph Michel and Jacques Etienne Montgolfier. The hot air baloons were tested with animals and went through much success.
