    Solar Eclipse

He observed a Solar Eclipse at the age of 13 but the prediction was a day off. This began his interest in Astronomical predictions.

    Conjunction of Planets

While studying at Leipzig in 1563, he observed a conjunction of Jupiter and Saturn. The tables that were designed by Copernicus and Ptolomy were inaccurate once again so he decided to design a more precise instrument.

    Prosthetic Nose

Him and his third cousin got into a quarrel and challenged each other to a sword duel. The duel happened at night and is presumed to have alcohol involved. Brahe had most of his nose cut off, from the bridge to the tip. He then had a prosthetic nose made and used it for the remainder of his life.

    New Star

In November of 1572, he observed a new star in the constellation Cassiopeia. With a staff and sextant, he was able to measure the distance and determined that it was located in the realm of unmoving stars which was inconsistent with belief that the celestial realm was a place of unmoving and unchanging stars

    Gifted an Island

The King of Denmark gifted Brahe an Island between Sweden and Denmark. He taxed the families that were already living there and used their labor to build two observatories. Brahe prepared astrological charts and predictions for the King using his two observatories. There, he observed the Great Comet of 1577 and determined that it was much further away than the Moon.
  • Tychonic System

    Tychonic System
In 1583, Brahe published his model of the Solar System which stated that all the planets orbited the Sun, and the Sun and Moon orbited Earth. This model solved the issue of stellar parallax which was an issue concerning Copernicus's model in which the Stars in the sky should move based off of Earth's movement.
  • Movement to Prague

In 1599, he moved to Prague because of disagreement with the new King of Denmark. At Prague, he was appointed as the Imperial Court Astronomer and worked along side Johannes Kepler to prepare Astrological charts and predictions.
  • Death

On October 13, 1601, he attended a Banquet and refused to go urinate during the service because of the lack of etiquette that displayed. After the banquet, he attempted to use the Bathroom and experienced very severe pain and very little urine release. His inability to urinate lasted for 11 days and he died. The Initial belief was he was unable to urinate due to a Kidney Stone, but after being exhumed twice, cause of death is believed to be Uremia which is caused from Kidney failure.
