    On March 14, 1804 Lewis and Clark expedition sets off in St. Louis, Missouri. They were told to explore the lands west of the Mississippi river. This journey lasted over 2 years and was approximately 8,000 miles long.

    On March 4, 1809, James Madison got inaugurated. James led the U.S. through the war of 1812. He also founded the Democratic-Republican Party, which has been called America's first opposition political party.

    From June 18, 1812 to February 18, 1815, the war of 1812. This was a fight between the U.S. and Great Britain. The War of 1812 started because of British "impressment" of American soldiers at sea and forcing them to join the British Military. The War ended in a tie.

    On March 4, 1829, Andrew Jackson got inaugurated. Andrew Jackson successfully led the U.S. forces in the Creek War against Native Americans. Andrew Jackson won that war.

    On May 1, 1832, Black Hawk War begins in Illinois and Michigan Territory. This got rid of Indian tribes from lands in the eastern United States. They signed treaties before to guarantee the safety of their lands but they broke those promises.

    On June 15, 1836 Arkansas became the 25th state. This land was apart of the Louisiana Purchase. Arkansas came into the U.S. as a slave state.
  • William Henry Harrison

    On March 4, 1841, William Henry Harrison got inaugurated. He was only president for a month because he died on April 4, 1841. One of his accomplishments was that he won the Battle of Tippecanoe.
