The fetus’s skin is transparent and a fine hair called lanugo begins to form on the head. The fetus begins sucking and swallows bits of amniotic fluid. Fingerprints developed on the fingers of the fetus. The fetus has reached 6 inches in length and weighs about 4 ounces.

At the end of the 7th month the baby is a lot heavier, about 2-4 pound, and measures about 36 cm. The baby's hearing is fully developed , also the bay is now responding to pain sound and light.

The baby now measures about 46 cm long, and weighs as much as 5 pounds, the baby will continue to develop and accumulate fat. by this time the baby is kicking more and becoming more active. At this time the babys brain is developing quickly because it can now hear and see. And most of the internal systems are well developed except for the lungs that might be immature.

By the end of the pregnancy the baby is still growing and developing. The lungs are nearly develope. The baby's reflexes are now better developed allowing him to blink, turn the head and grasp firmly. Also during this time the baby changes position to get itself ready for labour, it goes down into the pelvis and usually its head is facing down towards the birth canal. By the end of the 9th month the baby measures from 46-51 cm, and weighs about 7 pounds.
