  • Week 6 of Fetal Development .

    Week 6 of Fetal Development .
    At 6 weeks of pregancy the fetal's nose, mouth, and ears are beginning to take shape. Also you'd find an oversize head and dark spots where the baby's eyes and nostrils are starting to form . Right now, the baby is an quarter of an inch long, about a size of a lentil.

  • Week 9 of Fetal Development

    Week 9 of Fetal Development
    At 9 weeks of pregancy the baby is nearly an inch long and about a size of a grape and weighs just an fraction of an ounce. The baby's eyes are fully formed but he/she eyelids are fused shut and won't open until 27 weeks.     At week 12 of pregancy the fetal's finger will soon begin to open and close, toes curls, eye muscles will clench, and his mouth will make sucking movements .The baby's eyes will have moved from the sides to the front of the head and the ears will move to where they should be. At this time the baby is just over 2 inches long ( about the size of a lime) and weighs half an ounce.

    At week 15 of pregancy , the baby measure about 4 inches long and weighs about 2 1/2 ounces ( about the size of an apple) . The baby is forming taste buds and even though the baby's eyes are fused shut , she/he can sense light through their eyelids. The baby's legs are growing longer then it's arms and can move all thier joints and limbs . Also at this point you can have an ultrasound to see the gender of your baby.

    At week 19 of Development , the baby weighs about 8 1/2 ounces and measures 6 inches , head to bottom (about the size of a heirloom tomato). The baby's brain is designating specialized areas for smell, hearing, vision, taste, and touch. Also, the kidneys continue to make urine and hair on the scalp is sprouting.     At week 23 of pregancy , the baby is more than 11 inches long and weighs just over a pound (about as much as a large mango) . The baby's blood vessels in the lungs are developing to prepare for breathing .The baby also can start to pick up noises from the outside world such as a dog barking or music.     At week 28 of pregancy, the baby weighs two and a quater pounds (like a chinese cabbage) and measures 14.8 inches from the top of her head to her heals.     At week 31 of pregancy, the baby measures over 16 inches long and weighs about 3.3 pounds (carrying 4 navel oranges). The baby can turn his/hers head side to side. Also the baby will probably move alot like kicking and somersaults.This means the baby is active and healthy.The legs, arms, and body are beginning to plump out as needed fat accumulates under the skin.The baby is heading in a growth spurt .

  • Week 35 of Fetal Development

    At week 35 of pregancy, the baby is over 18 inches long and weighs in at 5 1/4 pounds (pick up a honeydew melon).The baby's kidneys are fully developed at this point and the liver can can process some waste products.     At week 38 of pregancy, the baby weighs about 6.8 pounds and 19 1/2 inches long (like a leek). He/she organs have matured and are ready for life outside the womb. If the baby is born with brown eyes ithey most likey will stay brown. If the baby is born with steel gray or dark blue, they might stay that color or change to hazel, green, or brown by the time he/she turns 9 months old. The child may gain more pigment in the irises in the months after he/she is born.
