one inch, nostrils/mouth/lips/eyelids form, buds for all 20 baby teeth appear, fingers and toes almost complete, organs present but immature

three inches, one ounce, sucks thumb, swallow, hiccup, moves, facial features become clearer

Month Five

6 1/2-7 inches, 4-5 ounces, hair/eyelashes/eyebrows appear, teeth continue to develop, organs mature, becomes more active

Month Six

8-10 inches, 8-12 ounces, fat deposits under skin, fetus appear wrinkled, breathing movements begin

Month Seven

10-12 inches, 1 1/2-2 pounds, sleeps and wakes regularly

Month Eight

14-16 inches, 2 1/2-3 pounds, rapid weight gain, reacts to loud noses/light changes, moves into head-down position

Month Nine

17-18 inches, 5-6 pounds, weight gain continues, skin becomes smooth as fat deposits continues, movements slow as there gets less room to move, disease fighting antibodies form, descends into pelvis, ready for birth
