  • No Child Left Behind

    No Child Left Behind
    The Federal government will give the state funds. State had to held schools accountable for achieving high scores on a standardized test made by the federal government. I believe that the is a balance. The Federal government is offering that fund. If the state accepts the offer then the state will have to comply with the federal government's rules.
  • Industrial Recovery Act

    Congress passed this act to help with the economy during the Great Depression. It gave Congress power to regulate interstate commerce. So congress increased taxes which state didn't like.
  • AFDC

    The Aid to Family with Dependent Children is a form of aid for families from 1935-1996. The federal government gives money but the state will administrate. There is a balance, between ferderal and state governemnt, they are working together.
  • Common Core Standards

    The Federal government would make education consistent through out the other states. In areas like Math and English to guarantee that students are prepared for college, or career after high school. Some state didn't agree. The state didn't want to give up control of education to Federal government. There was an imbalance.
  • Real ID Act

    Congress passed this act that required the state to add specific information to licenses that can be allowed for travel and enter to secure places. There was an inbalance between states and federal government.
  • Affordable Care Act

    Affordable Care Act
    The Affordable Care Act is health care reform law. It expanded the number of people that qualify for Medicaid. The Federal government covers the full cost for the first three years.Many states did not want to take Feral money to expand Medicaide.
  • Defense of Marriage Act

    More imbalance between the state and federal government.The state allowed same-sex couples to get married. Federal government didn't recognize same-sex married couples as a spouse in federal laws and benefits.
