  • Population of England Explodes

    Because of the great rise in population, Europeans begin looking for places with more oppurtunities. Colonies start to form in response to the great population.
  • Jamestown

    Was founded on a charter given by King James I of England. Jamestown was the first permanent colony
  • Massachusetts

    Massachusetts was founded by Pilgrims who wanted to practice their religion. In 1620 the Pilgrims landed in America on the Mayflower. Upon landing they created the Mayflower pact saying: that they will form a government that will do what the majority agrees on.
  • Pennsylvania

    Founded by William Penn to become a place for quakers to live. Quakers were an unpopular group due to the fact they had many beliefs different from other religions.
  • Carolina seperates

    North carolina and south carolina serperates due to disputes with the Proprietors (guys who owned the state).
  • Georgia

    The petition to colonize Georgia was aproved on 1732 and they finally settled there on Feb 12 1733. Georgia was also used to house some british criminals because of the lack of space.
