Gun Fight
The second video game to become popular was "Gun Fight" made by Taito in 1975. it was a huge hit being you could use a gun toy to play. It was later perfected in 1976. It was the first game to have violence, blood, or gore. -
The Great Video Game Crash of 1977

While the video game market was dying, the creater of Gun Fight made a game called Space Invaders to try and bring the market back. It was successful at first, but it went back to the market slowly dying off. -
Donkey Kong

THE NES
In 1985, Nintendo released the home console, the Nintendo Entertainment System due the successful sales of Donkey Kong. It was a huge hit and their game Super Mario Brothers spawned the legend of a video game character, Mario. (....and Luigi!) -

With the release of the Super Nintendo and it's hit game Super Mario World (which later began to be one of the most beloved games of all time), Mario became the most iconic video game character. He was more well known than Pac Man. Everyone knew the Mario brothers. -

Video Games Today
Nintendo, Sony and Microsoft have made many new consoles and are very successful. Many people own their games in their households.
