  • Public Law 88-164

    Authorized funds for training professionals to work with children with special needs and for research demonstration for students with IDD and deafness.
  • Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973

    As amended, is a civil rights law that prohibits discrimination on the basis of disability. This law applies to public elementary and secondary schools, among other entities.
  • Public Law 94-142

    In 1975, congress passed Public Law 94-142. It stated that in order for a state to recieve federal funds, states must develop policies that assure an appropiate and free public education to all children with disablities.
  • ADA

    The american with disabilities act makes it possible for everyone with a disability to live a life of freedom and equality. The ADA protects the civil rights of people with disabilities in all aspects of employment, in acessing public services.
  • Assitive Technology Act of 1998

    The Act seeks to provide AT to persons with disabilities, so they can more fully participate in education, employment, and daily activities on a level playing field with other members of their communities.
  • NOCLB

    Also known as Public Law 107-110, nations largest general education law. the participation of students with disabilities in largescale statewide or districtwide testing is required, and a subject of much interest to stakeholders.

    The IDEA 2004 is split into 4 different parts. Part A- is the general provisions, Part B- is the assistance for Education of all students with disablities, Part C is for infants and toddlers with disabilities and part D is the national activities to improve education of children with disablities
