The Beginning of the End
In the beginning Allie and Nick die in a car crash and fall off the cliff and fall to their death. They don't know they're dead until Chapter Three. -
Lief
Lief greeted Allie and Nick when they fell to their doom. He also can see the future so he was waiting for that moment for years. Everlost is a place between life and death. -
On the Road
Allie and Nick try to find their family and be with them, but Lief tries to stop them because if you stay on a "living" piece of land you sink to the center of the earth. They still try and make "roadshoes" which are snowshoes in Everlost. -
Mary Hightower
Mary Hightower is basically the mother of Everlost. She takes all Afterlights into the Everlost Twin Towers. Mary is only fifteen but loves to see comfortable children. When Nick, Allie, and Lief come, Nick falls in love with Mary, Lief watches tv all day and plays Pac-Man, and Allie just wants to get of there. -
The Haunter
Allie, Nick, and Lief go and see The Haunter. The Haunter is a person that can change with the living world. The Haunter throws a stone, says "bring it to me", but Nick and Lief fail. However, Allie did it and avoids being but into a pickle barrel. -
The Quest to Kill The Haunter
Allie races back to the Twin Towers and asks Mary for help. Mary does not put any child in the path of harms way and she declines so Allie slaps her. -
The Haunter Vs. The McGill
In this part of the book, The Haunter gets put in a pickle barrel by The McGill. After that Allie finds The Haunter is in a pickle barrel and asks where The McGill went and Allie goes to find The McGill to save Nick and Lief. -
Allie finds she is one of "Them"
On her journey, Allie finds out she can control people from the living world. She ends up getting onto The McGill's ship and tries to save Nick and Lief. However, The McGill likes fortune cookies and one says one thousand cowardly souls equals one brave man's soul. -
One Thousand
Allie tries to get Nick and Lief out but she gets caught lying to The McGill and is hung with the number one thousand painted on her blouse. So, in theroy The McGill should receive something unimaginably wonderful. -
