  • French and Indian war

    French and Indian war
    The French and Indian war happened because tension was rising between them. About who gets more land. so they went to war about it and the indians lost and the french got massive amounts of land.
  • Stamp Act

    Stamp Act
    The stamp act was put in place to tax wills, newspapers, and playing cards. Once they paid the tax a stamp would be put on it. It was the first tax to be put on the colonists directly.
  • Townshend act

    Townshend act
    After the parliament repealed the stamp act they passed the Townshend act. Which taxes all goods that where imported to the colony’s from Britain. Then the colonists boycotted British goods.
  • Boston Massacre

    Boston Massacre
    It started by a private group of people who gathered in front of the British customs house. They were taunting the soldiers and throwing sticks and stones at them. Then the soldiers started to shoot at the crowd that left many people died and wounded.
  • Tea Act

    The tea act launches a revolutionary movement but it was not intended to raise revenue. Then the east India Company is financially ruined with 18 million pounds of unsold tea. That they shipped to the colonies. But however the colonies didn’t touch the tea some pushed it in to the harbor others let it rot on the docks.

    The tea party was started when the colonist imposed the tea tax. Then on one night at midnight they raided three ships and throw 342 chests into the harbor.

    The intolerable acts are a series of measures one of them was to shut down the Boston harbor. The quartering act gave permission to soldiers to stay in vacant homes. Then the British used force on the colonies which made them fight back.
  • 1st and 2nd Continental Congress

    The first continental congress was made up of 12of 13 delegates from the 13 colonies. They agreed to cut off trade with the British until they abolish the intolerable acts. The second continental congress lacked the authority to govern but took the following in to their own hands military matters, statements of position, financing the war, independence, opening of diplomatic channels, and legislation.

    The tension was building between British authorities and the American colonies. Then they went to war many times Before the British retreated .Then the Americans finally won their independence.
