    More info on the Stamp ActThe Stamp act was passed on March 22, 1765 in Virginia.Shortly after the Sugar Act was passed, Parliament indicated that a stamp tax could be forthcoming. The Stamp Act was where everything having to do with paper was taxed. People had to carry a pocketbook that said if you paid the tax for that thing. If you did pay for it, you were given a stamp. The money made from the act was to be used to help pay the costs of defending and protecting the American frontier near the Appalachian Mountains.

After winning the French and Indian war the British believed that the Americans colonies should pay the cost for the war and after a series of laws being act being passed such as the stamped act 1765 and the Townsend Acts in 1767 where making the colonies really mad.
