After WWll, the economy took a turn for the worst and took a dive in Europe. The Marshall Plan was made to bring financial aid and stuff like supplies. Made originally made by George Marshall who was the Secretary of state. -

Rosenberg Spy Case
Wrongly accused of giving the Soviets the "blueprints" for the atomic bomb, Ethel and Julius Rosenberg blamed instead of Klaus Fuchs. They were executed on 19 June, 1953 thought to be Soviet spies. -

Bay of Pigs
The Cuban exiles ,supported by the U.S, Tried to ivade Cuba and overthrow Castro and end establlish a non-communist government. When the U.S first wave of bombers failed to disable the Cuban air force, the second airstrike was cancelled. This revealed American support and the brigade landed and was instantly shot upon. As the invasion was destroyed, the brigade surrendered and held captive. -

In order to divide Berlin, the Germans built the Berlin Wall dividing the West from the Communist East. -

The closest thing to a nuclear war scare and after JFK discovered the plans of the Soviet Union he demanded removal and announced a naval blockade. Soviet leader surrendered a week late to the U.S. demands. -
