Wall was built overnight to divide East and West Germany. People could no longer communicate with the opposite side. Whatever side you went to sleep on during that night, you were stuck there.

Cold War became close to being a nuclear conflict, due to Soviet's putting missles/sites on Cuba to prevent invasions (like Bay of Pigs). US considered attacking Cuba, but quarantined it instead. If US agreed to never invade Cuba again, Cuba/USSR agreed to remove the missle sites.

Codenamed Operation Urgent Fury. US led invasion against Grenada-a carribean island. Very controversial. US victory. The date of the invasion is now called Tanksgiving Day (in Grenada).

Wall was created to keep Germans from fleeing the country. Led to east Germany and West Germany. After it came down it unified into just Germany again.
