  • Invasion of Manchuria

    Invasion of Manchuria
    During this invasion, Japan invaded Manchuria to conquer as their own, due to their leaders belief in being a superior race compared to the Chinese and the need to expand their land. After taking over, they went on a two month rampage by killing and raping thousands of citizens.
  • Invasion of Ethiopia

    Invasion of Ethiopia
    Called the Italo-Ethiopian war, it involved the action Italy took to invade Ethiopia. Mussolini (also named Il Duce), the leader at the time, wanted to build an Italian empire and used a border incident as an excuse to invade the area. They successfully invaded and although the League of Nations opposed their actions, they had no support to go against Italy.
  • Spanish Civil War

    Spanish Civil War
    Gerneral Francisco Franco- a fascist - led a revolt against the government of Spain in an attempt to take over. The republicans lost because of their own lack of support and Mussolini and Hitler's aid to Franco.
  • Invasion of the Rhineland

    Invasion of the Rhineland
    Hitler invades Rhineland with the desire to expand his territory and using the excuse that it was Germany's property in the first place. Although Britain and France had a say in the matter afterward, they only used the Policy of Appeasement - giving temporary happiness or appeasement by trying to give him the next best thing.
  • Annexation of Austria

    The Fuhrer declared Germany needed more living area and took over Austria to do that.
  • Invasion of Poland

    Invasion of Poland
    Germany invaded Poland just months after signing the Munich agreement with Hitlers orders and Britain and France finally declared war on Germany. This was the beginning of World War II.
