  • Molasses Act

    Taxes on sugar, textiles, dye, coffee, wine, and other essentials.
  • Sugar act

    Sugar act
    Tax on sugar, another necessity.
  • Coercive Act

    Coercive Act
    Parliament was mad with the colonists for destroying the tea. They passed a serices of acts to punish the colonists, but Boston in particular. Some increased taxes on other things, whil other focused of stricter punishment.
  • Stamp Act

    Stamp Act
    A tax imlemented by Parliament that increased the tax on stamps. Everyone used stamps, there was no other way to communicate long distance.
  • Quartering Act

    Quartering Act
    This act said that the American Colonies had to provide a place for British soldiers to stay.
  • Tea act

    Tea act
    The Parliament needed money to pay for the war. THey taxed everything that they could, including tea. Tea was one of the things that almost all the colonist used.

    The colonists threw tea into the harbor to rebel against taxes
  • Boston Port Bill

    This act restricted trade with the Colonies and Britain
  • Intolerable Acts

    Intolerable Acts
    Punishments put in place by King George for the Boston Tea Party
  • New England prepares for war

    New England prepares for war
    New England forsees a war and starts preparing militia.
  • Battle of Lexington and Concord

    Battle of Lexington and Concord
    The British were trying to destroy weapons that the colonists had in Concord. They could only destroy about half the supplies.
  • No more trade

    Parliament passes an act that ends trade with the colony
