  • Townsend Acts

    Townsend Acts
    Glass, paint, oil, lead, paper, and tea were taxed. Troops from England marched into Boston on October 1st 1768. British trade soon dried up and the merchants of Britain interceded again on the colonies.
  • The Boston Massacre

    It was a street fight between a "patiot" mob, throwing snowballs, stones, and sticks, and a squad of British soldiers. Several colinists were killed and led to this campaign by speech-writers to rouse the ire on citizenry.

    Intolerable acts
    The British closed down the port that brings in goods due to the Boston Tea party, which meant the colonist couldn't have the port back until they paid for the 342 chests of tea they dumped. The british also forced the colonists to give shelter to british soldiers, and they prevented town meetings.
