    Proclamation of 1763

  • Navigation Act of 1763

    Navigation Act of 1763
    The Navigation Act was a tax and regulation limiting imports to Britain's North American colonies. Colonial merchants could not import goods from other countries even if the price of the British goods was higher. This act enforced the economic philosophy of mercantilism.   • Stamp Act

    Act passed by British Parliament in 1765 requiring all documents to have a stamp on them that only could be purchased from British tax collectors. Bills of sale, wills, etc. had to carry the stamp. This act angered the colonists because the British Parliament had imposed a new tax on printed goods.
