    Michelle's needs are met: Trust vs. Mistrust
    Michelle (one week old) is home from the hospital. She learned early on that when she cried, her mother was very attentive to her. Her mother fed her, she was burped, diaper was changed, or rocked to sleep. In Erikson's stage, trust vs. mistrust, the crisis is whether or not the world is a safe, predictable place, or if it's full of uncertainties. Michelle learned her primary caregiver tended to her needs and she developed trust which will help her through future relationships.

    Michelle Learns to be a "big girl"- Autonomy vs shame and guilt
    At 2 years old, Michelle is beginning to try new things and wants to get dressed on her own. In Erikson’s 2nd stage, Autonomy vs. shame and guilt the crisis is whether or not a child can become more independent in their world, or if they'll feel shameful and guilty for failure. Michelle was given many opportunities to explore activities she could do on her own such as getting dressed on her own, and brushing her teeth. This will allow her to be more confident in her own world and abilities.

    Michelle initiates play with her friends-Initiative vs. Guilt
    Michelle is engaging in more activities with her friends including pretend play or starting a game. Erikson's 3rd stage, Initiative vs. guilt ,the crisis is whether or not you're able to interact with other, initiative activities and interactions and have control, or if you're withdrawn due to being over criticized. Michelle has been able to have control over her actions and life within reasonable limits. With support, she can interact with her peers and was often a leader in her pre k class.

    Michelle completes reading log challenge-Industry vs. Inferiority
    Michelle completes reading log challenge during 3rd grade year. In Erikson's 4th stage, Industry vs. Inferiority, the crisis is whether or not a child can achieve the goals of their social surroundings or if they feel inferior to the world around them. Michelle set a goal to accomplish along with her class, and worked very hard with encouragement from her mom to achieve that goal by all means. This will allow her to competent in her own abilities and skills.
