Tyler's Identity Crisis
Tyler (age 15) was a freshman in high-school, and much preferred hanging out with the girls at his school for reasons he didn't understand. Tyler often felt he was one of the girls, and wished he was pretty like them. However Tyler felt like he should want to play hockey like his father once did, and want to be one of the guys. In Erikson's fifth stage Identity vs. Identity confusion, this is the stage where adolescents seek to find their aesthetic perception of themselves. -
Tyler's Marriage
Tyler (age 25) has been dating his boyfriend Kevin for four years now, and had proposed to him two nights ago. They went to the church and had their own small celebration with just the two of them on this day, and were married to be together forever through sickness and health. In Erikson's sixth stage Intimacy vs. Isolation, you have to know yourself to be intimate or share yourself with another, or else you'll simply be alone. -
Tyler's Final Moments
Tyler died peacefully at the hospital while holding hands with his life partner, and one true love Kevin. As Tyler was was reflecting on what he'd done in life he felt proud, and didn't regret anything, and was proud of himself for choosing to love Kevin despite his father's protests. Tyler lived a long happy life being Kevin's partner. In Erikson's eighth stage Ego Integrity vs. Despair one reflects on their life, and comes to terms with how they spent it with either satisfaction or despair.
