Trust vs. Mistrust:
Sarah doesn't remember this because she was an infant, but her parents had to work a lot when she was a baby and she had different caretakers. She never got to bond with her care taker leaving her in the mistrust category of Eriksons definition. Trust would include having a secure attachment to their caregiver, while mistrust has no bond and has insecure view on their caregiver. -
Emerging Adulthood
Sarah is in college and likes her degree a lot, she is doing well with work, has friends on campus, and participates in extracurricular actives and hobbies she is gaining more confidence in herself as shes left highschool and her home town and she feels like she knows who she is what she wants to do and that she is in the right spot in her life. This is a representation of successfully finding identity in eriksons ID vs ID confusion. a crisis in this stage might look like they are stagnant. -
Young Adulthood
Sarah has graduated college and is now working a great job she loves, she has a nice apartment to live in and overall lives comfortably and has friends. She works so much though that she has not been able to go on dates or have time to find a partner. this leaves her feeling empty and lonely after work and on weekends. Sarah is experiencing Isolation in erikons Intimacy vs isolation stage. She is craving a lasting intimate relationship, crisis in this stage may look like depression and isolation
