Stage 1: Trust vs Mistrust
The first stage Erikson created was trust vs mistrust. A stage where a child is born till their 18 months old. Showing how a child all depends on how a child is based on how their caregiver would raise them. The children would have two reactions and that is should I trust this person or should I not trust this person. It depends on how their parents raised them. -
Stage 6: Intimacy vs Isolation
The sixth stage of Erikson's creation is about a loving relationship between a loved one against a feeling of isolation and fear of being alone. Being in love can be really important. It helps a person in their daily life physically, mentally, and emotionally. It plays a role because being in a relationship can make someone feel happy and know that they are not alone. On the other side there's a feeling of being alone and isolated. Isolation can cause past relationships and fear of commitment. -
Stage 8: Integrity vs. Despair
The last stage Erikson created is called integrity vs. despair. The last stage begins at age 65 and it ends at death. Integrity is someone that looks back at life with no regrets and is satisfied with themselves and how they lived their life. Despair is the complete opposite. Despair is when someone looks back in their life with regrets and themselves questioning themselves. In my opinion thinking about this stage it's good to make smart decisions throughout life and live life to the fullest. -
Life of Erikson
Erik Erikson lived a long life dying at the age of 92. Erikson innovated and gave human development a new life. Erikson's theories brought interest in the principles of life and that's what came across of him making the eight psychosocial stages of life.
