  • French and Indian War

    French and Indian War
    The major battle against the British and France, but since the Indians also fought with the French they called it The French and Indian War. France wanted their independence and they fought for 7 long years. It all stoped when the British captured Canada in 1759. It official battle ended with a treaty, France gave Canada to England. This led to revolution by showing that the British had too much control.
  • The Proclamation of 1763

    The Proclamation of 1763
    The Indians and colonist were fighting and killing each other after the French and Indian War. King George III had enough of the fighting and killing, so he divided the two. The Indians on the west side and the colonist on the east side. This led to revolution by seperating our land to become our own.
  • Stamp Act

    Stamp Act
    The British were in debt from the war and needed more money, so they made popular things need a stamp. Basicly if they bought things like wills, licenses, and playing cards, you needed stamps for them to have. Ther was also a famous quote, "No taxation without representation!" This led to revolution by seeing that the txes were high andoutrageous, with made the colonist want their freedom.

    Quartering Act
    The colonist had to shelter, and give food to British soliders, and they took up too much space. This led to revolution by seeing that the colonist needed to be free.
  • Townshend Acts

    Townshend Acts
    Taxed certain goods that were shipped from Britian like glass, paint, paper, and tea. This led to revolution by seeign the Britsih had once agian made high taxes int eh colonies.
  • Boston Massacre

    Boston Massacre
    It started out as a small riot between the colonist and British soldiers. It got out of hand and the British started shooting. Five were killed and ten were injured. This led to revolution by seeing the British were cruel.
  • Tea Act

    Tea Act
    Lowered the cost of tea that was sold by the British, and gave complete control over tea sales in the colonies. This led to the Boston Tea Party. This led to revolution by seeing the Britsih were making the taxes higher to repay from the war,and making the colonist angry again.
  • Boston Tea Party

    Boston Tea Party
    About fifty men dressed up as Mohawk Indians and boarded three ships with loads of tea. The dumped over 90,000 pounds of tea in the Boston harbor. This led to revolution by the colonist showing that they can rule themselves.
  • First Continental Congress

    First Continental Congress
    Fifty leaders from twelve colonies met in Philadelphia to talk about about England. They agreed to send a respectful note to King George III. This led to revolution by showing the colonies can govern themselves.
  • Intolerable Acts

    Intolerable Acts
    The first law out of three was to close the Boston Harbor until the the ruined tea was paid for by the colonist. The second law of three was Massachusetts was controled completely by the British. The last law was that England sent more troops to inforce these new laws. This led to revolution by seeing the British were beign to hard on the colonist.
