    At a social gathering hosted at George Washington's headquarters, Angelica Schuyler (Eliza's sister) and Alexander Hamilton meet. Minutes after, Angelica introduces Alexander to Eliza, believing them to be the perfect match. They instantly click, fall in love, and their future begins.

    Earlier, Alexander was granted the blessing for marriage from Eliza's father, Philip, because he believed he would go far in life. This along with his high hopes as him being a great husband for Eliza. After nearly a year of knowing each other, the ceremony was held at the Schuyler Mansion in Albany.

    The couple gives birth to their first child. The male baby is decided to be named Philip Hamilton, after Eliza's father. Philip would become the eldest brother of 7 more children yet to come.

    In the eighteenth century, debtors were held in prison until their debts were paid. Ralph Earl, being a phenomenal​ painter himself was imprisoned for this reason. Alexander heard about his situation and was determined to help. He assigned Earl to paint a portrait of his wife, Eliza, for him to earn money and other painting materials provided by the other prominent woman of New York.

    Hamilton was soon appointed Secretary of Treasury. While he was serving this position, Eliza was able to be of great assistance. She helped build a strong foundation of the American Union along with editing and assembling several of the famous speeches he conveyed.
  • The Reynold's Affair

    The Reynold's Affair
    Maria Reynolds comes to Hamilton's residence in Philadelphia in search of help, accusing her husband to have abused and abandoned her. Unable to have a conversation that night, he rescheduled the meeting at Maria's house the next morning. The affair continued throughout the summer and the rest of fall. As soon as James Reynolds found out, Hamilton paid $1,000 to keep the relationship hidden and lasting. Eliza wasn't informed​ until a pamphlet was published to the public by Alexander himself.
  • Death of Philip

    Death of Philip
    The first child, Philip passed away. He, being the prideful son he was taught, was caught in a duel with George I. Eacker, son of a political opponent of his father. Ironically, George was an associate of Aaron Burr, Alexander's adversary. The cause had Eacker criticizing Philip's father, Philip then calling out Eacker in a theatre​ after he made a speech. After this untimely death, eldest daughter Angelica Schuyler went insane. As for Eliza, she delivered their final child, naming him Philip.

    Death of Alexander
    Hamilton participates in a dueling battle with competitor Aaron Burr. Hamilton leaves his family without giving any insight for Eliza but letters and notes. His pride outweighed his love. The duel resulted in Hamilton on the ground, Burr killing one of the most eminent people in American history in the same spot as Philip. Hamilton was shot​ in the stomach with the bullet lodged next to his spine. He died the next afternoon. Eliza was left to grieve still with 7 children to care for.

    The New York Orphan Asylum
    After the death of two of her most beloved, she expresses her affection for children. Eliza continues on to establish and become the co-founder and deputy director of the first private orphanage in New York City. Before, she raised funds for it to open and was said to have collected $765. She is also known for taking children into her home if necessary.

    Angelica Schuyler Death
    Angelica Schuyler, (Eliza's older sister) supported and helped Eliza get through all of the rough times in her life. This included the death of two of her loved ones, the affair, and many other difficult situations. She was a prominent member of the social elite during the American Revolution and was known for her kindness and heart. After her death at age 58, she is buried near Alexander in Trinity Church.
