    "Normal" schools are schools specifically for teacher education. This is an important part of K-12's history. Having educated teachers will make it possible for children to have a well rounded curriculum and get the best possible education they deserve.

    In Watertown, Wisconsin, the first kindergarten in the U.S. is started. Allowing children to start their education earlier gives them the educated start that they deserve. Teaching children new things at a younger age means they will pick things up quicker as the younger a child is the easier it is for them to learn.

    The National Teachers Association is founded by forty-three educators in Philadelphia. While this affects the teachers in grades K-12 more directly than the students, having someone who will support your teachers is what is best for the students in their care. Knowing they have someone who will support them allows teachers to provide their best care.

    The Department of Education was created in order to help states establish effective school systems. Having effective school systems available for all children gives everyone equal opportunity for a fair education. This is the most important thing in Education and children because giving everyone the same opportunity allows even children from poorer families to have the same possibilities.

    The Elementary and Secondary Education Act, ESEA, is the nation's national education law and is committed to providing equal opportunity for all students. This gives the same opportunities to all students. A child will not lose out on an opportunity simply because of their status or income level.
  • Project Head Start

    Project Head Start
    Head Start is a preschool program for children in low-income families. This is important for the children who have developmental delays or are considered to be in the low income bracket. The Head Start program gives children an opportunity to start school a little earlier and get a head start in their education. Children with delays struggle to learn and getting a head start will give them a step up when they start school.
