    The Magna Carta is drafted

    The Magna Carta was drafted by Archbishop Stephen Langhon on June 10, 1215. It was a document that states that the monarchy was not absolute. It provides a safety and security for the people. The Baron forces King John to sign this document in June 15, 1215. This is also one of the most importations document because we use it as a reference for writing our documents.
  • The Petition of Right is drafted

    The Petition of Right is a major English document that set a rule of subject the king is prohibited from infringing. It also insisted that the king not impose martial law in the peace. This document challenged the idea of the divine rights of the kings by declaring that must obey the law of the land.
  • English Bill of Rights is drafted

    The English Bill of Rights is an English Act of the Parliament. It was drafted on 1689. The Bill of Rights states the rights of the people. It tells which one are rights or wrongs. It also limited and separated the power of the kings and governments.
  • The Stamp Act

    The Stamp Act is an act that was passed by the British Parliament on March 22, 1765. It state that tax was impose on all American colonist. The civilians are required to pay a tax on ever things they buys. The money that were collected will be use for pay the costs if defending and protecting the country by the British
  • Townshend Duties

    The Townshend Duties was passed by the Parliament in 1767. The purpose of this act is to raise additional revenue from the colonies. The money that were collect will be use to pay off the salaries of the British officials in America. So it leads to the tension of people.
  • Boston Massacre

    It was happen on March 5, 1770. The king of England ordered his troops to stay in Boston. This created a lot of tension to the Civilians. So some of the civilians go fight with the British soldiers. Then the soldiers were fight back and kill some of them. It makes this event leading up to the Revolutionary War.
  • The Tea Act

    The Tea Act was passed by the Parliament of May 10, 1773. This act states that the colonies must buy only the tea that comes from the East India Company. The colonies civilian were angry about this Act. So it creates a spark to the revolutionary movement in Boston.
  • The First Continental Congress

    The first continental Congress was met in Philadelphia from September 5 – October 26, 1774. It was when the 13 colonies come and sharing ideas. All of the colonies sent delegates except Georgia. Some the idea is to defend the colonial rights against the king of England. They also passed the Intolerable Act.
  • The Second Continental Congress

    The Second Continental Congress was start on Mat 10, 1775. The people that work in the congress were gathering up and discuss the next step to be independence from England. The Second Continental Congress also established the militia as the continental army. They elected George Washington to be the commander.
  • Common Sense (Thomas Paine)

    The Common Sense is an argument of Thomas Paine that asks for a freedom from British. He wrote this document in 1776. He is an English man who comes to live in Philadelphia and later he supports the American Independence. This argument is one of the reasons that lead to the Revolutionary War.

    The Declaration of Independence is a document that states about the Independence of the 13 colonies. Thomas Jefferson was drafted this statement and hand to other delegates for made a change. In August 2, 1776, the President of a congress and other delegates were signed this document.
