    The Chinese Civil War was started by peasant farmers that demanded more money. It was resolved with the land that the farmers own being reditributed amongst them.
  • Berlin Blockade

    Berlin Blockade
    The Berlin Blockade was the Soviet Union's doing. They blockaded roads, rails and canals that led to the Ally section of Berlin. They had decided that they would not back down until the United States agreed to retreat out of Germany.

    The acronym stands for North Atlantic Treaty Organization. Its main purpose was to bind countries of America, Canada and other European countries. They were bond together in hopes of protecting each other from the clutch of the Soviet Union.

    The Berlin Airlift was consecutive drop offs of supplies to the people locked in Berlin. These supplies were given by the United States and included food, water, blankets and other needs. These supplies were dropped by plane.

    This report was 58 pages that were extreemly top secret. The report pressured the policies of the Containment Plan. The report also helped shape the policy that the United States would avide by for the following twenty years.

    The Korean War was basically caused by Koreans passsing the 38th Parallel. This parallel was the boundary line for North and South Korea. After the war, it was still the boundary.

    General MacArthur and President Truman had very different views about the war in Korea. Truman wanted traditional weapons and MacArthur wantd Nuclear weapons.

    The Warsaw Pact briefly followed the creation of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization. This pact bond the countries os the Soviet Union, Germany, Poland, hungary and several others. It created an alliance in wich they would protect each other from other outside forces.

    This spacecraft, launched by the Soviet Union, was the first artificial satellite. The event of Sputnik arriving in space started the space race between the United States and the Soviet Union.

    This was a conflict between the United States and the Soviet Union because of the Soviet Union's use of missiles in Cuba. The confrontation was the closest experience the Cold War had to becoming a combat war.
