Nobel Literature Prize winner Gabriel Garcia Marquez is a Colombian author from this time; One Hundred Years of Solitude is in my opinion his best book. It is about the story of Macondo, an isolated town in the middle of a swamp, whose history is like the history of Latin America on a reduced scale.
