    Cognitive Revolution

During the 1950's the realm of Psychology began a radical change. Many terms were decided to be too vague, and the focus changed from "the science of mental life" to the "science of behavior". Within this revolution was Noam Chomsky, arguing for the inherent abilities of humans to understand language without the need to be taught it. Schools may teach "language" but it is different compared to the language each person learns and decodes themself...A national language vs actual language.

    Plato's Problem

Chomsky considered language to be an almost innate faculty. I say almost innate because he believed that it was an aspect of our abilities of observation and generalization. Language would arrive out of our understanding and living within the world around us, allowing communication before the language is learned. Even a child able to point at what it wants is a child able to communicate its will relative to the world and its own place and reference to others. Not innate but a natural parameter.

    "Manufactured Consent"

In his most well known book Chomsky promotes the propaganda model. Within the Book "Manufactured Consent" Chomsky and Edward Herman propose a model of 4 points: ownership, advertising, reliance, flack, and the common enemy. Essentially this all flows from the powerful owning the media through advertisement the media relies on and fear of the powerful to point the public at a perceived enemy of the states choosing.

    "Requiem for the American Dream"

Following his political works and idea of Libertarian Socialism Chomsky released the documentary and book "Requiem for the American Dream". As a linguist turned political critic he focuses mainly on propaganda and the consolidation of political power. Citing Adam Smith from 1776 Chomsky he talks about power/wealth cycles. That the rich use capitol to lift up people who will support them, thereby making it easier to earn money in a cycle of "super wealth" which he describes in 10 principles.
