    A. Monarchy is when one person rules most likely a king.
    B. Their method was to have people council them and advise them
    C.Then they limited a king's rule to a certain number of years. Eventually, aristocrats in many city-states overthrew the monarchy and took the power for themselve, by 800 B.C.E most kings no longer ruled.

    Oligarchy
    A. Most Greek cities states were ruled by a small group of wealthy men called oligarchs
    B. The oligarchs pasted laws for the rich. They used the army to force others to obey the law.
    C. The poor turned to the leaders for help. The leaders were in the army. Their soldiers throw the oligarchy out of power.
    D. Russia uses oligarchy to rule. Vladimir Putin is in charge if Russia owes his power to an of boyars.

    A. The people who ruled were called dictators, which is another name for tyranny.
    B. They made changes that improved the lives of the poor.
    C. This form of government in Acient Greece lasted until about 500 B.C.E.
    D. They still use tyranny government in Belarus, Cuba, Iran, Burma, North Korea and Zimbabwe.
