    The Satellite States were countries or nations that were communist countries/nations and were part of the Soviet. The Soviet satellite states were East Germany, Czechoslavakia, Poland, Soviet Union, Hungary, Romania, Yugoslavia, Bulgaria and Albania. This all took place in the USSR. The Soviet created the Satellite States to serve as a bufferzone against attacks.

    Containment was a U.S policy using numerous strategies to prevent the spread of communism abroad. The nations involved were The U.S, China, Korea, and Vietnam. This event took place in the United States and it stopped the spread of communism.

    The Iron Curtain symbolized the ideological fighting and physical boundary dividing Europe into wo seperate areas; communist and capitalist.The countries that were involved in the Iron Curtain were USSR, Poland, East Germany, Czechoslavakia, Hungary, Romania and Bulgaria.The Iron Curtain was importamt because if the communist and capitalists were mixed together it would get very hectic and maybe even end with another war.

    The Truman Doctrine was a policy set forth by Harry S. Truman stating that the U.S would support Turkey and Greece with economic and military aid to prevent there falling into the Soviet Sphere. The nations involved were the U.S, Greece and Turkey. The Truman Doctrine was made in the United States and it sought to contain the spread of communism

    The Berlin Airlift was the U.S flying in food and supplies to the people of Berlin so that they could survive. This took place in Berlin and it was important because if we didnt help them, they could have starved and died because Stalin was cruel and wanted them to fall to communism.

    The Berlin Blockade was a wall to keep out France, Great Britain and the U.S out of Berlin which was on Stalin's side of the country. The nations involved were the United States, France, Great Britain and Berlin. The Berlin Blockade took place in Berlin and it was important to Stalin because he wanted West Berlin to fall to communism by starving them of food and raw materials they needed to survive.

    The North Atlantic Treaty Organization was an alliance of sixteen sovereign Euro-Atlantic countries that were dedicated to the proposition of maintaining democratic freedoms by means of collective defense.Countries in Europe and North America were involved. NATO headquaters are in Brussel, Belgium. NATO was inportant because it allowed Belgium, Britain, Canada, Denmark, France, Iceland, Italy, Luxemburg, The Netherlands, Portugal and the US to form a pact against the Soviet Union.

    Mutual defense treaty between eight communist states of Eastern-Europe in existence during the Cold War. The nations involved wrere the Soviet Union, Albania, Bulgaria, Czechoslovakia, East Germany, Hungary, Poland and Romania. The Warsaw Pact was signed in Poland. The Warsaw Pact was important because the treaty called on the member states to come to the defense of any member attacked by an outside force and it set up a unified military command under Marshal Ivan S. Konev of the Soviet Union.
