    It was a war beween England and Franch and their native allies. The British victory expaned their territory to all lands east of the Mississippi River.
  • Proclamation of 1763

    KIng Geroge issued the Proclamtion of 1763 which upset the colonists because they could not settle on lands they had fought for during the French and Indian War
  • Sugar Act

    Set a tax on cloth, sugar, coffee, and wine. Gave naval officers writs of assistance.
  • Stamp Act

    Tax on every legal document,newspaper,pamphlet, etc.
  • Declaratory Act

    Used to remind colonists that the king was ultimatley in charge. Parliment could pass any law in the colony.
  • Townshend Act

    Tax on paper, glass, tea, and coloring for paints.
  • Tea Act

    Colonists could olny buy tea from the East India Company.
  • Boston Tea Party

    A political protest against the Tea Act in Boston Harbor.
  • Intolerable Acts

    Punishment for Boaton Tea Party. It closed Boston Harbor until all the wasted tea was paid for, Massachusetts colonists were not allowed to holf town meetings without permission from the governer, people would have to quarter soldiers, and people accuesd of major crimes would have to go to Britain to be tried.
  • Declaration of Independance

    Representatives from each colony met and declared the colonies independent from England because of the many grievances.
