The Samoa earthquake generated a tsunami that killed about 200 people. The magnitude of the quake was 8.1 while the waves of the tsunami reached 22m high. -
North Pacific Coast, Japan

The same tsunami was found travelling 800km per hour with 10m-high when the waves came over the east coast of Japan, and killing more than 18,000 people. The earthquake that caused the tsunami was also marked as the fourth-largest earthquake ever recorded.
