    World War 1 ended with the Versailles treaty, or peace treaty that ended World War 1. An Armistice was aggreed apon, and the fighting was to end on the 11th hour of 11th day of 11th month (i.e. 11 am on Nov. 11, 1918).

    Hitler became the Chancellor of Germany, within a few months concentration camps were opened. Hitler introduced the Enabling Act, and banned all political parties except the Nazi Party.

    President Hindenburg died and Hitler took over his role as President and declared himself the leader of Germany. On August the 2nd, the entire army swore and oath of personal loyalty to Hitler. Hitler began reestablishing Germany as military power, and increased the size of the army.

    Hitler demanded that Sudetenland become part of Germany. The 'Munich Agreement' stated that Hitler could have the Sudetenland region of Czechoslovakia if he promised not to invade the rest of Czec.

    Hitler broke his promise and invaded the rest of Czec. Britain and France did nothing. they did tell him that if he invaded Poland, they would declare war, though. on 24th August, Hitler and Soviet Union made a deal not to attack eachother and to divide Poland between them.

    The Korean War was part of the Cold War, as when Japan surrendered at the endo of world war 2, its Korean colony split in two, North Korea was supported by the USSR, and South Korea was supported by the US-led UN forces. in 1950 the leader of north korea was persuaded to invade south korea. The UN ordered the north army to retreat, but they refused, so
    he UN ordered a military intervention.

  • The Cuban Crisis

    A rebel named Fidel Castro nationalised most Cuban industries, which ment the USA lost its commercial investments there. in retaliation, the Americans stopped all investments it had there. The USSR then signed an aggreement to Castro, and the alliance made the USA very nervous. The USA then decided to invade Cuba and overthrow him, but it was a disaster.Nuclear Missiles where being made by the soviet union, and things started to get more complicated.

  • The Cuban Crisis

    For a few days in late October, it would seem that there was going to be a war between the US and USSR, each side armed with with their own weapons, the USSR with nuclear weapons. Presedent John Kennedy proclaimed that any nuclear missile launched from Cuba would be a threat to the US by the USSR. Luckily, an aggreement was reached where the soviets removed all nuclear weapons in exchange for the US not invading Cuba.
