    Peter Zenger spoke out against the newly appointed colonial governor, William Cosby. His opinions were proclaimed false and Zenger was arrested. Zenger was found not guilty. This was the start to freedom of press for America.

    It was the largest slave uprising in the British colonies. They recuited almost 60 slaves and killed almost 20 white men. 44 slaves were killed.
