brown v. board of education
Oliver brown asked the school board in 1954 to let his daughter attend a white school because the school was closer to their house. The NCCP helped with the lawsuit with Thurgood Marshall. The Brown v. board of education case impacted society because brown won the case in a unanimous vote. This desegregated all of the schools. The military was sent in to integrate the schools. The importance of this event is that this maid all schools segregation free. -

Martin Luther King's Assassination
On April 4, 1968 Martin Luther King Jr. was shot outside of his hotel in Memphis Tennessee. The shooters name was James Earl Ray. He shot and killed MLK because he wanted to silence Americas nonviolent civil rights leader. The impact of MLK being assassinated is The civil Rights Movement basically ended when he died. The Importance of MLK being assassinated is that his assassin wanted to silence the civil rights leader. -
Robert F. Kennedy assassination
On June 4th 1968, in Los angels California out side the ambassador hotel Robert F. Kennedy was shot with a .22 caliber pistol. He was shot by sirhan sirhan. Sirhan shot him because he was angry at his support for Israels military policy. The importance of this is that this led to the secrete service protecting the president and the presidential candidates. The impact of this event is that the united states was shattered that another Kennedy was lost to an assassination. -

On august 16, 1977 from heart failure by prescription drug overdose. The importance was 94 gold singles, 40 gold albums, stared in 33 movies. Impact one of the biggest influences on pop culture and Rock n roll. Gave $1000 to charity a year. -

From 2000- 2004 George w. bush was the U.S. president. Before he was president he was the governor of Texas. The impact of him being president would be that he was president during 9/11. During his presidency he created the no child left behind project. The importance of this event is that he was are 41st president. -

In October, 2001 war started in Afghanistan, and march 2003 war started in Iraq by president George w. bush and Britain prime minister Tony Blair. This is important because of the possibility of Iraq having weapons of mass destruction, protect oil reserves, make the world safe from terrorists, and response to 9/11.The Impact was U.S. forces were attacked by the Al-Qaeda and the Taliban. The cost of the war is $4-$6 trillion. -
