    Joseph Raymond "Joe" McCarthy was an American politician who served as a Republican U.S. Senator from the state of Wisconsin from 1947 until his death in 1957. McCarthyism was basically a nickname for all the posters people put out for him to win.

    The Communist Party of China was formed in 1921. It was under Mao Zedong's control in 1927. Eventually, Mao led a revolution, and the communist party obtained control in 1947.

    West Berlin was taken over by allied troops at the end of WWII, while East Berlin was taken over by the Soviets. The Soviets had planned to take control of all of Berlin by air. Planes invaded West Berlin in this attempt.
